The idea for ThriveT1D is born after discovering there were no in-person support groups in Omaha specifically for children and teens living with Type 1 diabetes.

Oct 2025


Distributed flyers to libraries, pediatric offices, hospitals, and endocrinology clinics to connect families and raise awareness.

Nov 2025


Hosted the first ThriveT1D support meeting.

Jan 2026


Welcomed guest speaker Ingrid Nelson, a swimmer living with Type 1 diabetes, who shared her story and experiences.

Feb 2026


Hosted an information table at the Breakthrough T1D Summit, connecting with families and sharing ThriveT1D’s mission.

March 2026


Received a $400 grant from The Contribution Project to support ThriveT1D programs and outreach.

March 2026


Hosted guest speaker Jill Conway, a Breakthrough T1D board member.

April 2026


Launched the Encouragement Card Campaign to support newly diagnosed youth living with Type 1 diabetes.

May 2026


Officially obtained nonprofit status.

June 2026


Mailed more than 200 encouragement cards to newly diagnosed youth across Omaha and Western Iowa.
